Sometimes they need to be 0 speed or you don’t even get the Shriek at all. If Mortilys users have to have +9 or similar speed, the window they have to hit is quite narrow.
Also I feel like the purpose of the monster is to promote low speed monsters and it kinda does the opposite
I think this too. Even if it has a TU increase to use the move. And even if you can’t chain them as easily.
Yea 10 sec guarantee u a turn and it won’t be a big advantage either. I think it’s fair. At the end of the day u take a risk running this so it should be awarding
Honestly, I think keeping 20-23% speed monsters at +0 is unnecessary. There are probably so few encounters where you will meet enemies that slow unless they’re purposefully trying to counter a Mortilys setup, in which case you’re going to be unable to shriek anyway.
Just bonus your monsters a little bit so they get a turn at 90s or just under and then you will always get a turn before the enemies and it is unlikely to reduce the number of battles where you cannot shriek by much at all.
Give it a try before you start asking for buffs, please.
For Rhinedragon that probably means make it +2 (90.66s, +3 would be 87.9s) and for the others probably +3 (but you can adjust to choose who goes first).
@LemonSqueezy Same for you too… aim for that 90s entrance speed or just below and see how it feels.
Unicera/etc. (99% speed) if +9 will be at 90.1s after the shriek.
Moku +2 will get a turn at 89.9s. So there will be some RNG involved but you’re more likely to get the turn first. At +3 it’ll be 87.2s. here it’s probably pretty guaranteed to go ahead.
Hmmm alright im betting on it 87.2 is fine as most times beside the ones who delibretly goes out of their way to run a slow as durt monster. They gonna run speeds around the 60s to 90s on avrage
I had no doubt that I would fail to change your mind, but I’ve shared the numbers and the logic behind how it might not actually be a problem and now it’s on you to test it and give some proper evidence of your viewpoint still being valid
I literally suggested +2 or +3 for the slow monsters in the Mortilys team.
“I don’t think this should be the case” is a valid feeling, but does it really matter if all you have to do is be a bit smarter with the bonus on your monsters? I don’t mean to antagonise you, I just feel like you’re stubbornly making your same point and not realising if you adjusted the bonus you may not feel that way at all. Anyway, I wish you the best with Mortilys. It’s a pretty wild monster and I hope it leads to some interesting builds rather than just some broken/brutal ones.
