Luna (poll and discussion thread)

did u read the part were i said it cost 3? No one with a clear mind would use that
Fun facts:
Hazuki SS cost 2
Asmodia SS cost 2
Lucifelle SS cost 2
Plume SS cost 2
Only Carmilla and Gremoris cost 3 but I don’t need to say why right?

Since it doesn’t have any piercing moves im guessing the ss is meant to for example remove a shield or guarantee hg kill. Tu is too high, no piercing at all and the main kill move is very high tu (did I mention it doesn’t pierce?)

I thought we might have a mixed bag of responses about this one (ranging from bad to mediocre) but it seems like almost everyone is on the same page. Even with camouflage, focus and nearly triple immunity this monster is simply quite bad plus its moveset design is lazy and illogical.

To me personally, monsters with only damage moves are pretty boring. Night veil is a cool skill, but nothing else excites me about this monster and to actually use night veil that’s 50TU after waiting quite a long time to get a turn at 36% speed.

As Loki points out from using it in practice, double faststrike is the main move and that’s a whopping 200TU. Instant poison touch can make it pseudo piercing on one target and remove stealth but that’s a poor baseline for a mythic. To properly explain it… low speed and low defence so it’s easy to kill before it gets a turn then when it does get a turn it goes out of play for ages after bringing in two monsters at once. It’s close to 250s from entry before it gets its second turn, you’ll simply have lost control of the match in that time!

One redeeming quality is the 100TU retribution with full attack stats (it’s a weaker move but here it will one-shot nicely). This means that frustratingly even though it’s a bad monster it will sometimes perform well against you if you’re trading back and forth. In those scenarios it can get efficient kills and use night veil to pass time. So in practice when you face it I think you unfortunately need to kill it unless you know they’ll be pushed to using double faststrike. Luckily the low defence and speed makes that relatively easy.

Seems I’m not far from the reality @Exu

Thanks, for understanding the skills in practice and not just saying they are good when they are

Yes, but it doesn’t have a piece of sense on this moveset, was just the random good move they found for trying to give her any good thing, and it doesn’t worth with that spd

I never said it was a good mythic, I’d rate it B-tier max for PvP and probably C tier for PvE on the basis of what I’ve seen this far

D probably

I think you forget plenty of GT mons exist that would work well with it. Prismegasus, Vespia, Shiny Lavaronix, Aegis in an AP spam team, shiny utopian, Focalforce, so you just have to build around her a bit. I’m using her before Lemon with a diamonoid between them and assuming poison isn’t everywhere it works out decent. She also pairs well with Fiona to drop the tu of her moves.

New notes about Luna:
-the fast strike deals a massive damage as I spected, even if the second monster is not very far from 50 sec
-ghost walk should ignore, this myth needs piercing
-double fast strike would been good if cost 136 TU, this should get a buff for all mons

Why someone would do this? There are like infinite monster that worth more to give turn than this myth

Give turn itself is a high tu move, I would much rather just have below 100tu kill moves on all monsters

Funnily enough, I just beat GP73 with her

Make sure to post all wins with her, it really adds to the discussion.

I didn’t forget at all, but I also thought about how much better Geocosma is for this purpose and others like Kuromasa or Auraleus too. The one thing that stands out here is the sleep immunity and I think ultimately that’s why the moveset is either a high TU multi-target move or a move that requires a teammate to die (so you can’t simply begin sweeping from a standstill after OoO). However, I think there are better monsters to utilise with things like Lemon, particularly because Luna here has low defence and speed.

No, I’m strongly against this. She has low speed and got a quite limited/awkward moveset of damage moves to balance her because all the immunities (particularly sleep immunity) can easily make her quite busted if the moveset is pushed.

I think the problem lies in the design itself so it’s doomed to be quite boring and fairly medium power level. Sleep immunity and double faststrike cause the issues. If they hadn’t gone with double faststrike they could’ve increased the speed and done something interesting with camouflage so you’re heavily encouraged to use night veil first.

This is why she needs piercing and why u keep talking like it could be a good OoO monster? Is not, the fact that have sleep inmune doesn’t mean is gonna fit in OoO

Think about this @Dev_VKC u still can do something that worth the price, although I think night veil and the passives are okay(she could get piercing) but the moveset being so random is what I don’t like, think something cool

Dude you literally awakened this monster and now you’re asking the Devs to redesign the moveset into something better/cooler. If you wanted a better/cooler monster then wait for one and hatch for that instead.

They very rarely redesign what a moveset does, so I doubt we’d ever see a speed increase or a significant improvement to the sweeping power.

Let’s imagine she had a 100TU faststrike. That being single target and low enough TU to chain with attacks from other monsters would give you too much control after OoO. The damage moves need to be high TU, restricted or multi-target to avoid making her really strong with OoO. That’s why I was saying the fact it has sleep immune really messes up what they can do with the moveset.
