The fact that this is a thing just annoys me.
I mean in 2016, the age where this had not only been recognised but directly addressed by smartphone creators, people are still bringing out the “children can spend money” argument. There are so many ways of controlling it that if your child spends money then it’s your fault for not actually taking the time to set up any form of barrier whatsoever.
And if you think this whole game is a scam then I can see where you’re coming from but you’re wrong. This is how games function now, whether mobile or otherwise. Hook and then sell. Having a low initial price is the hook, and unless you know that going into a game then you’re gonna react badly once you realise.
If you haven’t realised this by now then honestly stay away from the Internet, because this is marketing 101, you’ll come out of an Internet shop with a rubber sieve simply because it was on offer.
The game would not continue to improve and be good without the players who spend money as the people buying are supporting the devs. The devs have to get paid to work on and continue to update the game. As the last events and other improvements to the game have shown is the devs are listening to the player base and their complaints as well, which is rare for most of the mobile games I have played. If you play for free then you still can save up free gems for festivals and get good monsters. They do a lot of work on the game and I and many others choose to support that.
