Some of us over at line chat are starting to question if festival eggs are truly better than special eggs. Sure, they have a better chance of giving legends overall, but it’s far more likely to give you regular legends that most of us have already, while the special eggs offer a better chance of getting the legend we actually want. Both kinds now have the featured guarantee at 6 packs, so festivals no longer have that edge over special eggs. Clearly festival eggs are meant to be better than special eggs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case when we have basically all the regular ones and would much rather have a better chance of getting something good. Please add the 5x chance of featured legends to the festival nest, and maybe bump special eggs back up to 10x, since event legends in general are hard enough to get already. This way there’s actually a decent chance of festival eggs being worth our while without being forced to do all 6 packs.
I always thought of it as festivals for new players, specials for old players.
Tbh all the eggs are bad. I never got a featured legend without the 6th gauranteed. Pretty bummer that i need to save 300 gems for 2+ monthes for 1 legend
Agree with luc. 6x chance in special was obviously made because of the 6th pack guarantee. A way for the devs to remain greedy. Since shuri, all new legends are released in festivals as well. Almost always 2 legends at once, so no guarantees to get the one you want. To make matters worse, shines have been added, thus lowering chance of featured legends further. Shines look cool, but I don’t need a cool looking copy of a legend I already have. Especially when its counterpart is potted.
Thing is, we’re still unclear on how shinies actually work. It could be that all the shiny versions have their own spot in the drawing pile, or it could be that they split it with the regular one, for example if the game decides you get a Tiamazus, it then decides whether to make it shiny or not. Pretty sure the devs have yet to confirm this, but I honestly think it’s the latter, which would mean it has no actual impact on each monster’s odds.
They should add a single limited to an egg with 6X rates as a bonus to the weekly ones or something so you have a guarantee at a single limited that you really want imo. They are starting to have a bit too many legionaries so I’d do the 2-3 in a egg (Maybe even phasing it to a biweekly) and then add another weekly where it features only a single limited for those who don’t want to risk getting something they already have. So two summon events at a time. One that features a single limited with 6X boost and another with normal rates with 2-3 limited at 3-6X boosted rates apiece.
I’m pretty sure the rare gems legends are 80% super epic and 20% legend. I rarely get a legend from those eggs. Devs are being a little too stingy on ratios. Bring back egg roulette
I honestly think they should cool it with the legends for a while and focus on the ones they already have. There’s a ton of legendaries out there
It’s not 20:80. You just have terrible luck.
I personally think that legendaries when released should go into the egg, then they take 1 at the back of the list out for eqch new one they put in.
Thank you all for the feedback. Dev team is going to have an egg meeting to figure out the better way to present our eggs.
For the shiny version Legendary monsters, like Luc said, if you are going to hatch a Tiamazus, you will get Tiamazus. Roughly 66% to get normal Tiamazus, 33% to get the shiny one.
The shiny Legendary monsters won’t increase the chances of hatching duplicate.
One thing you guys really need to be thinking about is legendary inflation. You guys have almost 100+ Legendaries in the game right now. There will be a point where it will take a year to cycle through them all at your current rate. Meaning with the new strategies you guys are trying to promote are going to get lost in the sea of legends you guys have to cycle through. Plus you have more new ones on the way.
The rare egg needs another update with some of the limited monsters
There was a thread discussing this a couple of months ago I think. Not sure why people are so disappointed with the current system. Basically you’ve got:
-
the special festivals (1.5x chance, packs = 50, 60, 100, 50…) for the newer players who want lots of legendaries and need the ones from the general pool (or for older players to get a new monster being released by buying 6 packs).
-
the legendary festivals (1.5x chance, boosted chance of featured - usually 5x?) for the older players to get increased chance of the rarer legendaries plus more than normal in general.
-
the normal eggs (super boosted chance of featured - usually 10x?) for the spenders to get specific legendaries which greatly increased chance.
Each egg has it’s role. No. 1 is the egg most people will be going for, saving up over the course of a few months to get 3 packs or 6 packs. No. 2 is the best egg for older players with lots of legendaries already or the medium-big spenders wanting specific ones and to get the ones they’re missing from the normal pool. No. 3 is the least appealing egg but is the downtime between other stuff and offering the opportunity for big spenders to get specific legendaries not recently featured for the least amount of money.
As a free player myself I use practically all my gems only in the special festivals (no. 1). I may make the change to only no. 2 eggs soon because I’ve now got lots of the normal legendaries, I’ll wait until the selection of featured legendaries are mostly ones I don’t have and I want. It would benefit me greatly if there was one clear choice as the best kind of egg to buy, but is that really the best design to have one way better that everyone simply ignores all the other types of eggs? I think it’s nicely done the way it currently is. The only tweaks I might consider are…
no. 1 egg = make sure there’s always a large selection of rare legendaries added to the pool (8-10)
no. 2 egg = keep the number of rare legendaries added to the pool small (3-5), with chance for featured at 5x-3x (when 3-5)
no. 3 egg = always make it two rare legendaries added to the pool and make it guaranteed featured from 4th pack instead of 6th
I.e. The no. 3 eggs are obvious places to get specific legendaries at cheaper cost, no. 2 eggs are a great place for getting rare legendaries but no. 1 eggs are closer in how good they are for getting these rare legendaries and since you always get one of the new legendaries in the 6th pack they can be considered the best time to spend gems.
As I recall the “number 2s” don’t have increased individual odds. The only festival I can recall that did that was the one with all 6 first ones, but that kind of felt like a special case.
That was the last festival before the 6th pack guaranteed was implemented permanently, I believe.
In response to legend festivals, they are exactly like special festivals in terms of featured legend chances, only the 50%,60% etc are neglected in legend festivals. Special eggs with 10x chance is the way to go.
I’m pretty sure Killerdog is a secret dev trying to convince us that he’s just an average player. You don’t fool me, sir.
We speak for the people!
Nope they definitely did have increased chance for the featured ones, but it was lower than the “special eggs”. The special eggs typically had 10x while the legendary festivals had 5x or sometimes lower when lots were featured. I didn’t keep track of every single egg but that was the general trend I saw.
Hahaha I wish! I volunteer for a gaming company which makes a game much like this one. They have more social aspects while this has better combat. I’ve always been interested in game design which is why I’ve been volunteering for the last couple of years alongside other stuff. I’ve always spoken for the people, while making sure it’s in the interest of the developers too. I hope you can tell from my analysis and feedback on the eggs that’s exactly what I’m doing
If the devs of this game would make an investment in re developing the social interaction of player to player in game like guilds, in game chat, etc. Then this game would be number 1 in RPG category in the App Store and Android. No doubt in my mind
