It’s the same ■■■■ over and over. Overpowered easily aviable legendary into a counter mythic that will destroy released strategy.
I was too busy this week to be on the forum so I’ve been catching up. I left this 200 post thread until last because it was massive. It didn’t disappoint… looks like the vast majority of posts are making judgement calls on stuff before having practical experience with them, either with unreleased monsters or the new legendary.
After the chaos caused by the broken design of Keiser this new CW king was always going to be worrying. However, I honestly think it’s nicely balanced. Hear me out…
Auto-taunt on the CW SEs isn’t as broken as you think. It’s 40% chance with a single one, 57% (4/7) with two. So a single protector has a higher chance of blocking (67%) than two of these CWs. I’ve faced Calamitas a few times in PvP and had very little trouble hitting around them either to kill the mythic or to kill Calamitas. People who saw the leaked version of Calamitas giving auto-protect to them and calling this a buff to make them auto-taunt I think are very wrong.
I’ve played CWs a bunch in the past and I’m sure anyone who has also done that will agree there are some very commonly played counters. Any repulse or slayerbane absolutely crushes them. Also, they are slow to get going because you can only attack with some of them and the others must feast otherwise they are all stuck on high seconds. This all makes the setup incredibly fragile.
Calamitas I think offers the perfect support by even making CWs on high seconds add value by blocking attacks and it lets them all accelerate easily without straight up charging their bloodthirst/fury. I think these mechanics are strong but fair, particularly with the low-ish block chance. Similarly, Calamitas has an awesome stack of passives with high defence that means the strategy can hold together but we can still target to deal with it in some ways. For example, I repulsed it in a battle and the tempo swing was huge. If the CWs got auto-protect I think it wouldn’t feel fair because they either get hard countered or they are a nightmare to try and attack properly. Auto-taunt is a much better designed way of doing this.
What excites me most is Calamitas’ potential as a sweeper. It seems worth building around and a lot of fun. It’s not going to be held back too much by all the crystal worms, but they’re all weak to a large number of counters so it’s surprisingly well balanced.
Maybe I’ll eat my words, but right now I’m 100% on board with this design and think it will be a good inclusion to the meta. You can probably run it and compete for top 10 but I doubt it will be a dominant strategy worth complaining about.
No. his design is not that broken but very strong. the key problem is the cost. I use CW and my team can basically use more myths. the cost of myths has greatly increased, so CW team has a high cost-effectiveness, so it is very oppressive, coupled with HP boost
give cw HP boost, they are all monsters around 5000HP, which is the problem
Devs need to consider the timing of their releases of powerful legendaries and certainly ones that synergise with Dev made teams. Mythics aren’t so bad because they not as easily obtained.
It must be really annoying for people who spend ages perfecting their team during non-ranked only for the meta to change on the day of ranked.
Can’t wait for @squinty1880 to post his team after the rank ends showing how a top tier Calamitas team looks and how easy it was for him to beat most people.
This ranked showed how brutal dual sweeping on invalid targets using Zephyramus actually is. Especially when you can shield it with stun immune low cost Taunt spam with a mother boss that has a perfect void sweeping to support it.
Then you just slap any S+ tier myth spam for the bottom row (you have great cost amount for that) and you are good to go.
Anyone who thinks it’s not the case clearly haven’t played the full rank.
Anyone who can S+ tier mythic spam surely has an account that can dominate others in many different ways, particularly during a season with the most restrictive list we’ve ever had.
That’s a very fair comment. We saw a similar problem with Canishogun, Maeve, Keiser
Hmm. You may be a killjoy, but at least you have an objective view of things. It’s time to stop crying over nothing.
Of course not.
Unfortunately, Neomon is not available in China. We used to publish there, but we had to stop after Apple changed their policy in 2018, if I remember correctly.
For Chinese users, the only way to make purchases is by accessing another country’s app store via VPN. I believe this is similar to how users in Cuba make purchases.
well dev, as you can see if I’m not mistaken, top 1 with calamitas + zephiramus and at least two calamitas + zephiramus users in the top 10, probably more, congratulations for destroying the ranking just the day it starts, I guess that was the idea Also, congratulations for weakening Nyx so much with the limitations and the CW, that’s why we have returned to Unicera’s super fast fl + nikki and prixis, I will simply wait for zephiramus to come out again so I can abuse him with calamitas in fl, I hope it doesn’t take too long to release it on banners
I’ve only lost once against Cw this whole season, and he’s top 1, now. He run nyx FL with cw and Entrances endgame.
He is kinda smart in team building. Cw lost to Fast FL, and Nyx herself countered Fast FL.
You know, I am seeing A LOT of complaints about this season being unfair because of the restrictions, the Calamitas monster being too strong, and the overall meta being trash. All I’m gonna say is that I got my first ever top 20 this season, and I probably have much fewer mythics than many of you. Additionally, the team I ran consisted of Sturg and Otomaid in the fl, which is far from ideal, and I didn’t see many others running this comp. I think there is certainly some room for creativity and synergy in team building that can give you an edge, and all these complaints are unreasonable. Just make better decisions, build better teams, and have better RNG!
zephiramus is strong and i said this in a previous post that, he only lacked support monsters, with the CW they provide the support he needs.
He will always be that kind of mythic if a powerful strategy involves some super epic he will be extremely powerful or be completely useless if no strategy exists
Is it possible that we can block new released monsters if the banner comes at the same day ranked started .
After ranked you could let them free for pvp.
This wouldnt destroy teams which we create for ranked a week or two before ranked start .
But it is intentional to force competitive players to spend and hatch for new strong pvp toy on the day ranked starts. It’s always the case.
Imagine releasing something day of ranked that immidietly proceeds to get top 1 that ranked
Maybe we should just wait full month and not play and spend to then log in on Friday, hatch some packs on a new festival and get high spot just because.
Plume was meta for so long, the fact that anyone doubted this guy would make CW extremely strong is silly.
@Dev_VKC I was looking at old comments here and there is a leaked character with a unique and obviously meta changing skill which is blind but tied to “l*li”. What am I supposed to do now? I would like to awaken that mythic for that skillset but I would not want that garbage design anywhere near my collection. How am I supposed to convince you that creating absolutely insane skillsets for designs we normal human beings find attrocious is why the sales look positive for “waifus”? Like you can’t actually be serious right?
You can’t release Hawknight with that skillset and then insanely op stuff like Charypdia and Carmilla as “waifu” and then say “well waifus sell better”. Don’t you dare talk about Marjorie without releasing all the sale spreadsheets for every single monster.
I doubted the usefulness of CWs not this guy. I was mistaken and ill admit that
Thabks for the random call out tho
