Was the event extended because I though it was until the 12 now it’s until 17.
The event was always the 17th but it’s 12 days which you may have gotten mixed up. The event requires 15.6 days worth of tickets so it isn’t that long of a time for the event relatively speaking

How many gems need to boost till floor 150 ?
It would depend on your ticket count, winning every match and how far you already are without spending.
There is time for about 110-15 battles alotted, assuming you win all of them you’ll need tickets for around 40 battles, I can do 6 per gem, so 7 gems for me will hopefully be all it takes. But I expect to lose a few in the later parts.
Syko, presuming your maths is solid…
If it cost 7 gems on the basis you have no losses I’d say that is more than worthwhile to get a 20% spin at a legendary and no epic. One gem your gonna get another 6 goes even if you do lose. It’s pretty solid.
I guess they will be used separate from regular gems so festivals won’t boost them further?
The actual math is this:
It takes 2,250 tickets to reach the 150
That’s 22,500 minutes or 15.6 days
The event is 12 days
Assuming you started with 0 tickets when the event started, you’d have time for 1,728 tickets by the cut off time
You’d need 522 tickets
Which is 5.8 gems but you’d have to use 6
So 6 gems

You can keep going after 150 lol but would be pointless

The notice of the event says “YOU FACE THE NEXT OPPONENT IF YOU WIN” so why is it 15 tickets per battle ???
Mostly I’m just happy to have Gaiawolf, since I missed him the first time. Btw am I the only one that thinks Geohound is kinda adorable? 
I’m also glad I could get Gaiawolf. And yeah he does have that cute thing going on. Personally, I want to call him “Loggy” just because of the small trunk on his side.
I really hope they do another one of these for shinobidragon. I could really use him in my sleep team. Blitzdragon would be nice too. Currently on floor 63, I hope I have enough time to make 150. I’m trying to use the least amount of gems possible, outside the prize ones they give u.
