Since a good chunk of the community thinks rule PvP is a nuisance, what about a revamp of the rule system? What if each rule, also came with a buff? Example:
• 10 monsters teams, max 5 Legendaries and all Super-Epics deal 25% more damage
• At least 4 robotic monsters in the team and they acquire Poison and Sleep Immunity
• only monsters whose speed ≤ 60% are allowed, while monsters whose speed ≤ 30% are automatically accelerated (they have their moves’ seconds reduced by 25%) before getting their first turn
Similar rules could make otherwise useless monsters usable, and the concept of rule PvP could be perceived less as a restriction and more as an incentive. I’m aware of the fact this whole idea is risky though.
Will inevitably lead to the domination of Thlug/FD/Abyssoldier teams, but an interesting concept. I think that buffing, say, anything with 3> stars 50% might be interesting, but SE’s are strong enough that buffing them would be game breaking. Limiting legends cut out strategies, and limiting overall team size would mean that P2W full mythic teams could ignore cost restrictions. Maybe max 12 slots, max 4 mythics?
This is a great idea, but my main worry is that many robotic monsters already have poison and sleep immunity, and those passives would be made worthless. Maybe robotic monsters could have stun immunity if they already have one of those abilities, and stun converter if they already have 2 of stun immunity, poison immunity, or sleep immunity.
This completely negates way too many strategies, and several monsters. If a player doesn’t have any good monsters with low speed, they literally are not allowed to use a good team. Having a rule that limits a certain stat seems way too restrictive. Sorry, but I can’t think of any constructive criticism for this one. No rule should completely ban any monsters, let alone about a quarter of all good ones.
Overall, I think that restrictions should encourage creative teambuilding, not restrict it while locking players with smaller monster collections out of pvp.
Note that I proposed a damage boost. Their defence would still be enough that they get one-shotted like always. Thlugs deal piercing one-shots anyway, so that wouldn’t change much. Plus, if Abyssoldiers FINALLY get some spotlight in PvP, I’ll be but happy.
The only ones I see often are Chromera and Shurikaizer to have Poison Immunity. Also I remember when last year a MUCH MORE radical rule was put, “every monster gets Stun Immunity”. My idea is milquetoast compares to that
Too many META strategies! And that’s what I want to happen. I wanna see some creative, on-the-spot teambuilding! Granted, that would mean monsters with -killer moves are out of play and that only means anarchy… And that’s fun!
I feel like you don’t realize that you are eliminating 1/4 to 1/3 of the good monsters. Think of the noobs(like my second account) who spend weeks getting a few good legends and SE’s, work hard to come up with cool or unique strategies, and then go into pvp, sure that they will be able to get some extra gems, only to find out that those legends and SE’s are banned, and that by the time that they can get more monsters that are allowed, the season will be over. Is that fair? This doesn’t hurt pros, it just makes it harder and harder for new players to get into pvp, which makes the whole game less interesting, and harder.
I’m all for special rules with more creativity. My issue is simply that the current rules being suggested in this thread seem focused on the pros, and would make pvp ni-impossible for noobs to enter
I don’t understand what you mean. After one week of PvP, there will be no rule anymore and you can use all the legendaries you want. There are two weeks of PvP where all monsters are allowed and the meta can be as unoriginal as people want
