Can anyone tell me why my mythic has a number in a red circle on it?
Because it is limited to two, you can only have 2 of those monsters that have the number two, and only one of those that have the number 1

Elaborating what Iberian said is when you open your team from pvp section you can see the red circle on mythic as well as legendary ,it specifies the limited monsters which can be used in that pvp season
