Lets talk about hp boost

Not that long ago they totally changed the boost mechanic making it not viable for most of mythics, you should be happy we are not back to Carmilla having 1000hp more and being untouchable in pvp :rofl:

Not really, I mean you’ve been here(way) longer than I have, you too know once the update is out, at max people complain for a month, even less when there are legitimate concerns.

Other then @Coltraz and @Dane1 am pretty sure everyone would agree that hp boost does not belong in competitive pvp.

There are many ways to fix it.

For example make it accessible to everyone that would remove the advantage by Making it as a part of the ingredients selection 45 ores for 45 ticket

Me personally i would rather see it completely gone from pvp, top players wouldn’t be upset as they would understand its for the fairness and competitiveness of the game.

I mean. Your kinda to late its been what a year and a half since they released? Just straight up removing them would create abselute chaos

I think it would drive some players out of the game. It would be huge because some top guys have spent hundreds of hours farming ores.

There has to be some middle ground. Maybe removing the ability to restore ores (just give an opportunity to restore them when a monster is nerfed) and limit the boosted monster amount in a team to 3-5.

Or maybe boosting could add 1-3 cost to the monster. +1 cost for a boosted mythic, +2 cost to a boosted legendary, +3 cost to a boosted SE.

I don’t think anyone would leave the game for ore, it like saying if they nerf a monster i would leave the game ? I remember countless times my strategies have been nerfed with no to real compensation

Adding extra cost is a good idea, or limiting the number of monsters.

Many games now do geared pvp and un-geared pvp that’s something that could be considered

I think X’s post is perfectly valid. It’s daft it has such an impact on PvP and it can’t be earned through PvP.

I don’t avoid PvE entirely like people think, but it’s frustrating when you have to spend 150 tickets but your max doesn’t reach 150 too.

It’s also annoying when PvP events like IC, UC don’t contribute towards the ticket count.

MBQ is very boring and grindy so it’s annoying when that’s one of the things you need to do.

There either needs to be a PvP option to gain ores or the number per team should be limited imo. I’d prefer the former.

we could reduce the super epic hp boost to 1500

From the first moment it was crazy, then they changed the increase according to the rarity (another crazy thing), try to kill a diamanoid with hp boost, but I would give up my 420 orbs for a decent amount of gems.

HP boost has literally been added to the game to give advantage to players who consistently log in and play. That’s why it’s tied to daily missions.

So… a returning player coming back and saying they’re unfair is to be expected but also kind of the point. This is what some of us have gained while you’ve been away!

As for the point about PvP being fair and competitive… there’s an absolutely enormous imbalance in the size of people’s collections. It takes years of playing to get the kind of stuff people at the top do, unless you spend a lot of money. So HP boost is just a small factor in that. Mr.X’s account was banned and he’s returned with an account gifted to him. That’s a very unfair leg up over other people, much more of a concern in my mind than people having HP boost.

There are also a few other reasons HP boost is good for the game:

  1. It allows people to make their favourite monsters stronger in a fairly exclusive and special way (this is a good ā€œfun factorā€ for non-competitive players).

  2. It gives an incentive for people to log in regularly, because there is an actual long-term clear benefit for doing so. This keeps the player-base more active.

  3. It somewhat balances the power level of SEs, legendaries and mythics. With the latest change instead of +1000HP to all it’s +2000, +1000, +500 so they go from ~3000HP, ~4000HP, ~5000HP unboosted to ~5000HP, ~5000HP, ~5500HP when boosted. That means it’s basically to do with their defence stat, moveset and whether their attack moves do enough rather than all SEs being very squishy by comparison to mythics. Ultimately this means more monsters are potentially viable for use as well as heavy mythic teams not standing above other teams quite so much.

Get your facts straight i did not return with a account given to me, its my account that is outdated for 3 years and am in top 50 purely due to team building skill and game knowledge while lacking almost every top mythic and newly released legendaries

Its completely unnecessary, i can see why players would grind for it in pve but pvp not really

On this I 100% agree. I’ve tried at least a couple of times to ask for daily missions to have dual completion requirements so it’s either PvE OR PvP to do them. Others have asked for similar too. However, it hasn’t happened.

It’s a bit silly because it’s the hardcore PvP players who care most about the imbalance of what HP boost causes, and they’re the group of people who don’t want to do the daily PvE for the ores.

Who says that? Again let’s not generalize LOL.

Imo they should add ores to PvP rewards for ranked rewards or increase the number of tiers in PvP wins section from 85 to maybe 150 and put them there. HP ores should also be granted for clearing stuff like hell mode in GoH or Wormholes in Time Attack.

maybe starter accounts should be given a small boost like starting with a set amount of ores already. i feel like If the balance was right it would help get newer players a bit more of a chance of catching up to the older ones. most new players wont be able to even complete the daily challenges for months due to hero rank ticket limitations.

i would say the same for returning players though i feel like they should get far less than starter accounts. maybe like 2 ores every month they were absent. though they would have to play through several days again to receive them.

as far as starter accounts go i think that even if you gave them as much as 30 hp ores to begin with it would still be a long time before they could actually boost.

as far as PvP/PvE division goes - the problem with adding more ore prizes to the likes of PvP means that the divide between the top PvP players and the casual players would grow even greater with the top players able to get rewarded for both PvE and PvP. this would be bad for the longevity of the game as new players would be put off by the huge uphill struggle to get in the reward zone and ultimately people wouldn’t last no matter how many boobas Neo overloads the game with.

i once raised the subject of having another PvP tier like the one we have around the HR100 mark. i think that now we have players over HR300 AND HP boosts available this is becoming an increasingly viable option. either have some sort of increased possibility of meeting other boosted monster users or have the HP boost removed from PvP entirely which i reckon would be a shame since it adds an extra element of variation/tactical play to an area where a lot of variety is lost due to team similarities at the high end of PvP.
