HOW TO USE VORTEXOR CORRECTLY...

There has been many references as to a lot of people NOT being able to use this ark correctly. I leave the answering of this topic to those with the “Know-How”, so other players can benefit and make the environment more competitive. If we can answer the following.

  1. Strong interacting arks

  2. Best Placement (NOT at the end!)

  3. How to play WITH it.

  4. How to play AGAINST it.

It’s really not that difficult…

You at least get credit for a post, so i guess this helps you…but not the people who actually want to gain further understanding on the subtleties of the ark are the people that are likely to click on this posting and probably will not be happy with your response…So anyways i’ll get the ball rolling…

  1. Triphoon + Vortexor + Gremknight / Stegospike / Riaoh

  2. I feel a strong placement for this ark is at the 4, 5, or 6 spots, that way if your front 3 gets banished you will be in strong position to banish back sending their Vortextor in the back (which is the WORST placement for the ark).

  3. Strategy for playing WITH it: Group it with supporting AIR arks. Basically Banish any Stun : Stun-Skin Arks. And Army-Wind other arks.

  4. Strategy for playing AGAINST it: You have no idea how far in the lineup the Vortexor is going to get placed. But you do know a good player will not place it near the end. It is more likely you will encounter it very early in the lineup and with Triphoon very near. If that’s the case Destructor will be a strong placement in the front. I understand many lack Destructor, so an alternative is to place your VORTEXOR team in 1) in spots 4, 5, and 6. That way you can launch a strong counterattack and / or banish back.

My tip - place a vortexor With scorpionix. If scorpionix goes first skip it and let vortexor banish and hope for some metal so you get 2 arks… Tried getting 3 ba’s With this i killed 7 arks before he was able to move lol…

3 powerhouses in front. Pure damage. 2 other Air + Vortexor next ideally. Or add Shadowstalker in there.

My personal recommendation for powerhouses is Cryowyrm, Kamiwyrm, and Octoneer. But I realize two of those aren’t available yet. For now, you can find some powerhouses to use in their places.

You might consider: 3 powerhouses + Triphoon + Vortexor + Shadowstalker. This way, powerhouses kick butt, trash the enemy Vortexor or whatever else. If they get banished, then you have Triphoon + Vortexor + Shadowstalker. You can put scapegoat on Shadowstalker to take some damage while Triphoon and Vortexor do their business. Vortexor could banish if necessary (especially if there’s a Shadowstalker in the way). If there isn’t, the enemy Vortexor can easily be killed. Vortexor can use army wind with some protection from Shadowstalker. Consider risky heal or offering after Shadowstalker, to keep Shadowstalker healed.

Now if you don’t get banished, then you do damage, then Triphoon comes and you do damage, and Vortexor comes and you do damage (and can banish if you want). In that case, this team still works just fine.

You say that Vortexor is useless in the back. But isn’t it possible for players to adapt by using a carefully placed Bloodmagic, Throw, or Chaos magic? The same goes for when Chopperbug is sent back. It’s absolutely useless, so it’s imperative to find a counter. Once good summoners come out, Minoblast will be good for that job. Gigarock’s better, but meh. You get the idea…heck, the wyrms work too.

Which also gets me to a good point. Pegasion’s sendback is also quite useful…basically, you have to think REALLY hard with placement. Getting things sent back is natural…but there are ways you can control it, alter your team, counter a banishment, take advantage of it, etc.

However, I do LOVE the suggestions in this thread. Pushing for a bane AoE is great. Props to y’all!

Great tip, I think 2 bas happened when we PVPed and you got rid 3 of mine :frowning:

  1. Put Gearwolf on your starting line up, it’s speed will make it go first against Vortexor, and a hit from Xenofang will one shot the windy beast.

That’s provided if you’ve got a ShadowStalker pairing with it.,
I tried that, but without ShadowStalker it’s just meat on the plate lol

Just saying, I’m sure people can make it work without SS

And beware when your opponent also have dark arks in the line up. Xenofang won’t work so you have to use chain attack which won’t kill the beast in one go.

Also, you will have a hard time facing scorpionix in the starting 3. It was a nightmare trust me

Congrats you’ve got Kami finally!!
It is even more difficult to battle you now lol

Well to be honest, most people will not pair Vortexor with dark type arks, players will want to max their army wind so the chance of seeing another dark type along side a Vortexor starting line-up is very low. Xenofang from Gearwolf has been working as a wonderful counter 100% of the time so far for me, but everyone is different so use what ya want guys.
