G.F. Cactus - Festival Legend (Poll and Discussion)

Is the new G.F. any good?

I’ve been reading this thread about her and I see good comments.

It actually sounds fun!

That’s because he is a better player than you.

I mainly play with Kumachi + Bears team for every event. Novadrake is old school.

What a joke

Yeah, just like I’m a better player than you, there’s always someone better, that’s not the point lol…

I agree. But questioning Pola hp boost is wild. Pola is god.

Who mentioned hp boost ? What kind of idiot cares about that? I’m talking about the fact that there he has random legends with max Bond but not Novagoat, it’s intolerable.

What a joke.

such a whiner.

What a joke.

This monster is crazily good!

VKC I’m sorry to pull out this quote, but it always boggles my mind when I see something like Cactus after you had concerns about putting hold ground on a garden fairy. Here we have a decent speed monster that can redirect attacks to it that will kill anything which does one-shot damage to it, piercing kill almost all the most common monster types with efficient TU and otherwise spam a super low TU move that ultimately kills enemies fairly efficiently (and has super synergy alongside Jasmine for the healing or things like Woolala).

Like seriously, this is basically another Dameule. If garden fairies were a more competitive team then this would be extremely oppressive.

That said, I’m genuinely excited to see it for now. It’s the best legendary we’ve had released in a while and it doesn’t even need to be used alongside the garden fairies. I’m still recovering my gems but I look forward to getting it at some point in the future. I also think it’s very likely I’ll regret this initial excitement and want it nerfed, just like I have with Dameule.

No need to apologize. We actually worried too much and were wrong about Hold Ground + Jasmine. Lotus has provided enough data to show that this isn’t an issue. She still got killed easily, even though her skills aren’t aggressive at all.

I think you guys worry about the wrong things and those who are obvious dont make you worry at times

It’s extremely hard to judge all these things, particularly when you’re the one designing it and it’s going through many iterations. You can easily get caught up on specifics or have older versions of the way stuff worked sticking around in your head even if those aspects aren’t relevant any more. I have very limited experience of designing stuff like this and I’m sure the actual designers could speak to it better, but making stuff balanced on release is so much harder than people would generally think.

Even if we had, say, 10 experienced players giving advice there would be many things that slip through unless those players did a huge amount of play testing and even then you’d get problems like monsters specifically being designed to be strong/weak in certain areas that the play testers would disapprove of and pull the design in all different directions. We could end up with everything being too similar power level, nothing exciting being made, etc. Better to just leave it up to the designers themselves and they do careful balancing after they get data.

what was the point of nerfing husky, void, yuki, they were no problem in the game, some obvious monsters needed a nerf more than them

They were targeted because they were old and its for that sole reason, its not like people were complaining about them or they were causing problems in pvp.

Your afraid to release something that might be powerful but its justified to nerf things that are considered good not even great

Voidress I don’t know… that one annoys me. It’s a significant change in her design.
Yukihime it honestly changes very little. I quite like how she’s more reliant on fatal sleep now, it seems more appropriate design.
Huskegon I think is just collateral as they try to nerf Aello. From what I can tell, the developers have been targeting sleep with nerfs for a very long time as we get so many insomnia monsters now and they don’t want sleep lasting 300s long.

She was single handedly winning againt Nyx FL. Crazy that a single monster would counter a whole you had to create with 3 slow monsters and it meant nothing. It was a necessary change.

Yuki’s sweeping a little slow down, nothing too bad. A good change on an op monster still.

Tranq entrance and Husk only getting the sleep nerf instead of every other sleep entrance and sleep passive was the only mistake. They could’ve also directly nerfed Aello because you know devs did this for her.

None of these were that outrageous and they were mostly justifiable

Non of them are really necessary, there are more problematic things in the game but they look pass those

Really? That was the reason??

If so, why not a “from start of battle” restriction? Or maybe just a TU revert on ritual VI because it’s surely only being such low TU that makes it a good counter (Voidress itself gets doubled TU as it is).

How? It’s 130TU either way and the sleep killing is better because it keeps them as dead weight on the battlefield for 100s, plus is an instant kill. Only difference is if when the opponent has sleep protection or if you desperately want to kill an insomnia/revenge monsters.

Tranquilising does both sleep and stun, so it does half the amount of each. It makes perfect sense. My only complaint is it should’ve been done from the start and the movesets to be designed strong enough to account for this.
