Anyone else who have unlocked the same monster you already have but it’s not fusing with the old one.

Why would I do that knowing that I can get bonous for my monster, you know how much hard it is to get legendary pot right
It’s what they asked us to do. Send a message to support or to Dev_BRD with your friend code and a screenshot of the monster/s that were not fused properly. Then delete the monster that should have been fused (e.g. in your case the Oakling, the unevolved one) and change the team you have selected to force a “local save”.
What support will then do is send you another Oakling as a reward you can claim. When you claim it it’ll automatically fuse with your Oakthulu properly. They won’t send you one unless you send them a message with the right details and delete the Oakling first. Unfortunately there’s no easy way for them to correct this.

I didn’t get the Change team step
It’s a minor thing. Dev_BRD said that the monster won’t actually be deleted permanently until the game saves. To force it to save you can change your active team.

It’s just one way for the game to save itself. There are other ways but this is the easiest way
