Thoughts about the new monsters: Shi Na

You do you. I do agree that it’s a gimmick monster and in PvP will only work against noobs.

I’m not even considering pvp. This monster is just too bad, and not fun to even build around.

Making multiple Ankous against AI feels illegal, though :sunglasses:

hold on just a minute here. how dare you tarnish ankoudragons name like that. he is one of the best monsters in the game.

i got my highest PvP finish using him.

A handicap then, you would’ve gotten higher if you didn’t bother using it

Though I agree that he’s easily denied by sleep and it’s difficult to get him a turn as it’s speed is fairly slow, how is he bad? You can put him in fl, so he doesn’t die after 300 secs and put death sentence on a random enemy, so if you don’t kill him in 100 secs your monster dies…

Patiently waiting for auro to get in banners lol, get some dr/ payback/entrance monster and you can ruin the opponent as long as you keep auro safe

Too slow for everything.

That he is, still pretty good for story and low to mid lvl PvP tho…

Entrance speed is its biggest weakness.

Im not even talking about the entrance. It’s slow for everything

Nah, if you manage to trigger eternal rebirth, even at +0 you get a turn, instant accelerate, get a guaranteed kill for 56 TU, then start sweeping with 80 TU, that’s not exactly fast but not slow either. And there the weakness is in the entrance speed.

Also it has that really fast death sentence that activates after 100 TU and can instantly kill a few protectors. You are just heavily biased by your initial hatching experience.

absolutely untrue.

he has a quick death sentence, instant accelerate means he is guaranteed quick kills after his first move. his ohko move after he dies can be used to essentially skip a turn even without a death. i use him with Lunactia and when both are max potted they are a perfect combo. she summons a rockoid he eats it and instant bloodcrave.
if he is slept she can remove him

There are other monsters that have bloodcrave and less restrictions to charge it. I tend to leave ankou to kill up to 4 because kills don’t beat control, worse even when it cant even pierce after that first eternal revenge, and that is if it ever even reaches that stage because the restrictions to use it. Oh and disrupts your own team flow which is another bad thing. There’s really no reason to use it in a team, insta F tier

i won a battle using just ankhou, spectrefox, revenarchion and tortogiest.

Eternal revenge is one of the few skills that 1 shot anything. For control it isn’t the best but it’s quite reliable against highly buffed enemies because they always 1 shot Ankou and make it revive. Also you can easily build your team in a way that Ankou won’t disrupt it, and in PvE it really doesn’t matter that much.

This!

Talking PvP, outside of specific combos (Lunactia’s enemy substitute or Arachnadiva’s scapegoat) I have to agree with Unown that Ankoudragon is very lacklustre, but with them it’s very nice. I personally do what Unown says where I let it die to recoil. Simply hit it with a decent bit of damage then ignore it, or if you have a repulse then do that and laugh.

I still don’t have one, but I’ve played a bunch with shared friends and stolen ones in UC. It’s always disappointed me heavily in UC because the enemy AI doesn’t target it soon enough and the random target of eternal revenge causes problems because there are too many enemies I do not want it to hit (they have a revenge). Maybe outside UC it’s a different story, but still weaker than Revenarchion for PvE I reckon.

Oh boy, they do not at all.

Shi Na is extremely hard to deal with. I think she is S+ since I first saw her and yet, almost no one is running her. I guess people don’t like to “build around” anymore.

So, you’re totally right about what you say. Although, I also think that we (players ) need to update our way of team building. That stupid zombie rockoid is another example, Carmille is too. Actual teams need to have incorporated monsters who denied death revenge effects. The same way we learned in the past to run stun absorbers every 3 or 4 monsters, we most learn now to run these kind of monsters in strategical positions.
I’ve been running these “virus” superepics more often from a while back. They are great
