It’s not necessary, but it’s cute.
I’d 100% write a poison joke, someone else might want to say his team or clan name. Hell some people might even use it to give hints about their team!
Some toxicity is to be expected, but it’s nothing that can’t already be done by editing your IGN.
Honestly I used it too in PvP and I was very pleasantly surprised.
He needs that poison support given the lower damage on DPE, but once he gets it he’s a tank-ish sweeper with 60 speed. Trust me, for poison that’s huge.
Plus while he needs support himself, once he gets some he can help support too: they killed your Auto Poisoner? He’s not as good, but at least you’re still getting some targets. Plus his entrance, while too unreliable for setups, can still be a life save against purifies.
His problem is that he doesn’t make poison teams strong, he’s just filler. Very good filler though in my opinion, at least when potted.

You’re right, it’s mostly a filler, it does his job but doesn’t really excel in anything. It’s still a very honest poisoner that’s speedier than the standard, and actually works. Just, you’d rarely choose it instead of another monster.
You forgot to say something about Atlantyrant
Also Terrordragon and the OG Autopoisoners… Well, I think that Atlantyrant suffers from the same problems as almost all poisoners (slow and high seconds moves) and despite LINK Poison Typhoon being hard to activate more than once (not that you’d need it) RAW Double Bloodcrave is amazing. Epidemic too, he is very good poison support+sweeping
